Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees?
Individual therapy sessions are $120 for self-pay clients.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I accept various insurances including: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), BCBS of Massachusetts, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, Horizon BCBS of New Jersey, Oscar, Oxford, United Healthcare, Quest Behavioral Health, Independence Blue Cross Pennsylvania - Virtual National Network.
If you do not see your insurance listed here, we can verify whether I accept your carrier/plan, and also discuss Out Of Network (OON) options.
Do I need a diagnosis?
Technically for clients who are not being covered by insurance, a diagnosis is not a mandatory part of treatment. For those using their insurance to cover therapy appointments, I am required to provide a diagnosis. Not everyone needs or wants a diagnosis, but sometimes putting a name to your experience can be helpful. In any case, it takes time to gather the information necessary to establish a clear and accurate diagnosis, and we will work through this process together.
What if I’m just looking for someone to vent to?
You decide the course of your therapy. Whether you’d like to process difficult experiences from your past or discuss daily stressors (or both!), I will meet you where you are. No problem is too small and no topic is off-limits. Together we can talk about your goals for treatment - and these can always evolve over time.
Are appointments offered in-person or online?
At this time I am offering both in-person and virtual appointments. My office is located in Fishkill, NY and virtual appointments are open to anyone located in New York State.
How long will I be in therapy?
There is no definitive answer to this question, as each individual’s circumstance is unique. It’s safe to say more than a few sessions are necessary in order to establish a therapeutic relationship and develop trust. While some individuals find what they are looking for within a few months, many individuals seek therapy for longer periods of time - and both are okay! Together we will find what works for you.
What should I expect once I complete the consultation form?
Once you complete the consultation request form, you will receive a follow-up email from me. After connecting, we will schedule a time to speak on the phone for the consultation call. Please see the “services” page for more information.
